History
The Ron Brown Company
Founded in 1953, The Ron Brown Company has been at the forefront of Victoria's growth and development for the last fifty years. Modestly opening in an old service station in downtown Victoria, Texas, Ron Brown started what was to become the area's oldest and most respected real estate brokerage firm. This was no accident, as Mr. Brown dedicated his firm to being the leader in service to the public and in knowledge of the industry.
The Ron Brown Company grew several times until locating on Navarro Street in 1973. As the company grew in size it became known for its expertise in residential, commercial and farm and ranch brokerage. It also became the area's leading appraisal company and Ron Brown was known nationally as an expert and an innovator in valuing real property.
In 1975, Mr. Brown chose to sell the company to two of his associates whom he felt would preserve the reputation and integrity of the company. Lee Swearingen, who had experience in real estate brokerage, acquired the company in 1975 along with a partner who was an appraiser. The company continued to grow and by 1985 had doubled in size.
In 1990, Mr. Swearingen purchased the interest of his partner as he made the commitment to focus entirely on real estate brokerage, development, and management.
The management and agents of The Ron Brown Company have experienced many changes in the real estate market, from the days of the real estate agent operating out of the trunk of their car with one-page contract to today's highly trained team of professionals providing the latest technology and highest level of services available. Interest rates have gone from single digit numbers to 22% interest, to todays proliferation of mortgage products.
Starting in 1953 with Ron Brown and continued today under the leadership of Lee Swearingen, The Ron Brown Company has remained focused. Its' commitment has been to provide its clients with the most up to date knowledge, the latest in technology and products, the support of our entire organization, and a commitment to service not to be exceeded.
